The A1GP races try to be the alternative to F1 and offer a different view of racing. They want to give the drivers the same chances on the same vehicles and the winner should be decided only by his capabilities and team strategy. In general one cannot talk about ecology by the races of this kind, because of large logistic maneuvers around all the world, huge racing cars fuel consumption and thus emission production and above all the promotion of rather consume way of life. However A1GP tries to be ecological by using the mixture of petrol and ethanol as the fuel. There are great disputes about biofuels, however one must accept by the racing cars, that they give sense, because the huge fuel consumption does not produce as high local pollution and thus the audience and their health definitely appreciate it.

Louis Palmer according to his own words was notified about A1GP by accident, the question is what was it like in fact. He stopped in a thermal plant, that thanks to the usage of Eearth'h heat produces 5% of New Zealands's electric energy consumption. But not far away from there is the racing track. He was allowed to go for a ride on it, but with the maximum speed of 50 km/h only, because there were preparations for the race in progress. He was even given the offer to make a honorary circle with the audience just before the start of the race.
