One of the exclusive car dealers in the Czech has decided to offer to the customers also the Apollo car from the German sports car manufacture Gumpert. The name sounds exotic, but it is the surname of a man, who has many years of experience with racing cars production. Under his management the developement at Audi of all wheel drive began in the mid 70s, which lately developed into what we today know as \\\"quattro\\\". The AUDI Sport division celebrated great success with it in rally races.

But Roland Gumpert desired to develop a road car. The vision came into existence in 2001, during 2002 there was the first model in 1:4 scale. In 2005 the first real car was finished, which appeared for example in Geneva in March 2006 at Salon Auto, where also our photos below come from. The dream was to join the experience from flying with the experience from driving and create the ultimate car with the best aerodynamics and handling in the world, which thanks to downforce could go through a tunnel at high speed on the roof of it. And the manufacturer claims, that he succeeded. While the car fulfills all the requirements to be public road legal, so one can go in it directly to the circuit.

This goods is really exclusive, there are only about fifteen pieces produced until now and the price for the basic version should fit into eight million CZK. These parameters together with the car characteristics create a very limited group of potentional customers and one thinks, what do these cars do in the Czech Republic because according to official information there are countries with much higher concentration of billionaires in the world. But it is enough to think and remember, that goods prices are here already higher than in Germany, the supersports cars paradise, while the salaries of ordinary people are at about the third of what similar people get there. And because the money does not just vanish, they must naturally appear in the pockets of the superior managers, who are \\\"capable\\\" to persuade the people below, to work for little, the customers using PR that the goods is cheap and to have themselves enough for their hobbies. So it does not seem so, but in the Czech there must be many very rich people, which are not known for it, but which are the potentional customers for such luxury products.

So what can expect the one, who decides to draw blood or rather to let fall a drop from his reserves? In the basic version the by two turbochargers charged 4.163 litres eight cylinder V8 originally from Audi produces the power of 478 kW (650 PS), but for enough money it can be modified up to 588 kW (800 PS), which is more than a Mercedes-Benz McLaren 722, for example. Thanks to the low weight about 1200 kg the acceleration of the basic version from 0 to 100 km/h is mere 3 seconds and the maximum speed is 360 km/h. These data easily keep behind also all Ferrari and Lamborghini cars. But what makes this car unique is also the appearance, which can probably make someone in the public traffic scared. It does not play for a luxury GT, but it likes the style similar to the Koenigsegg brand, so the carbone and the noble alloys are not hidden. The exact information as well as current photos can be found directly on the manufacturers web site, see the link below.

This article is rather a warning, that such a car could be probaly met on the Czech roads. So it is not advised to try to measure power with it only for example because of the fact, that the potential racer could be stopped by the patrol and according to the future planned road law modification also penalized with the penalty points for obstructing at overtaking.
