Brazilian Grand Prix won Kimi Räikkönen and ensured thus the victory in the whole championship. His victory was also thanks to the team colleague, which is Felipe Massa. He led the race in front of Kimi till the last stop at the mechanics, which was planned for both drivers after each other. The first came Felipe and so Kimi remained on the track and gained the leadership and thanks to the light car he could go fast laps. He managed to go three fast laps before going to the mechanics and draw ahead before Felipe. When going out he appeared just before Felipe and it was obvious also according to the timing, that he did not hurry in this lap. But it is true that Ferrari team were completely the fastest, which is also clear according to the about forty seconds gap before the third driver, which was Fernando Alonso from McLaren Mercedes team.

However, also this situation must not mean defeat for the championship leader, Lewis Hamilton. He started from the second position, but just at the start the third Räikkönen got in front of him, who went in a better trail and his car was clearly better. Just after the start Hamilton was attacked by the fourth Alonso, who did not want to let the team colleague in the better position and in fact caused the championship loss for Hamilton. Hamilton did not let the overtake without reaction and tried to quickly regain the position before Alonso back, but did not manage it and got out of the track. He succeeded in getting back, but he fell deeply into the field out of the pointed positions. If Alonso did not make this stunt and Hamilton did not try to overtake him back, the championship could end completely different.

So, Hamilton had to start pursuit ride from the back positions, which was judged to failure ahead. Moreover, his car several times from uncanny, till now not explained, reasons failed to shift, and so after gaining some positions he had to slow down and loose them for several times. It is not completely clear, if it was the driver or the car failure. Even the strategy change from two to three stops did not help, which allowed him to go faster laps and overtake better with the lighter car. The first three drivers, who started the best, so Räikkönen, Massa a Alonso, did not make a mistake and ended at the podium. Hamilton ended the seventh, however he became the second man of the championship. The victorious Räikkönen got 110 points completely, Alonso and Hamilton got 109, also the number of victories for the whole seasons was the same for both, but Hamilton thanks to more second places held the second position.

There were interesting things happenning also by the mechanics, who fell down to the ground after unmanaged arrivals of the drivers. One of the BMW mechanics even had to be transported to the hospital. There were also many collisions on the track.
