Louis Palmer arrived to Bali from India already on 25th November 2007, with short break in Singapore. It was not easy to legalize the stay for Solar Taxi. Because he did not have valid debark documents, he would have to pay 50000 USD bail. But thanks to UN invitation a Special-Import permit was arranged.

Another problem was to gain the permit to drive. For this reason he visited on 28th November 2007 three-star police general, who against local habits quite screamed and told him, that driving permit can be considered only when they have the customs document, which guarantees the car allowance. But a phone call to the customs brought, that they have to have a document from the police first, that it gains the permit to drive. It was a vicious circle.

The police were finally convinced "somehow" to issue the permit, so Solar Taxi could go through the customs office. On 30th November 2007 the car gained Indonesian plates and permit to drive on Bali until 24th December 2007. So it seems, that the Christmas will be spent already in Australia.
