A high level of safety equipment
The new Partner is a safe vehicle thanks to its strong
structure but also thanks to its comprehensive
and modern equipment designed, to protect the
occupants in the event of a collision.
The three point inertia reel seat belts fi tted to the
outer front seats are height adjustable and are
equipped with pretensioners and force limiters. An
illuminated warning and an audible alarm indicate
if the driver’s seat belt has not been fastened.
For fl eet customers, an optional passenger fasten
seat belt warning system is also available.
The passenger seat is also equipped with a threepoint
Isofi x anchorage system, ensuring an Isofi x
child seat can be installed as safely as possible.
The vehicle can be equipped with up to six air bags
according to the particular model. At the front, the
driver’s air bag is supplemented by a passenger air
bag (which can also be disconnected if required)
and two side/ chest air bags, as well as two curtain
air bags.
At the levels of primary safety, two devices help
improve the vehicle’s safety even further.
Firstly an optional “Tyre under-infl ation detection”
system. This system, a fi rst in the small van
segment, detects tyre under infl ation or a puncture
by means of sensors located in each wheel. It
measures pressure and temperature variations
inside the tyres and can automatically locate the
wheel the defective tyre is fi tted to.
This information is then communicated to the driver
by means of a visual message on the fascia panel
information screen and by an audible warning.
In addition to safety, the regular checking and
adjustment of tyre pressures, reduces road noise
and optimises fuel consumption and tyre wear.
It is also possible to choose an optional speed
limiter/cruise control.
This can be activated very simply by means of a
remote control located on the steering column and
allows the driver not to exceed a chosen speed or
to set a speed at which he wishes to drive.
Comfortable and pleasant to drive
Low noise levels are one of the primary factors
contributing to overall comfort inside a vehicle.
The new Partner pays particular attention to this
aspect to achieve a performance that’s among the
best in the segment.
To achieve this a range of noise reduction measures
have been introduced (baffl es, inserts and the use
of sound deadening material, etc) in the engine
compartment and the passenger compartment,
and even on the underside of the vehicle fl oor.
Added to this are thicker side windows with a
thickness of 3.85 mm and special seals on the
front doors and the sliding side loading doors.
A vehicle designed for professional use, the
new Partner pays close attention to comfort and
features designed to improve the wellbeing of its
occupants who, may need to spend many hours
in the vehicle.
For enhanced comfort regardless of the outside
temperature, manual air conditioning with
recirculation of the interior air is available as an
option. But it is also possible, according to the
particular model, to opt for automatic dual zone
air conditioning. This equipment, normally found
in passenger cars will delight passengers in search
of personalised temperature comfort, where each
occupant can set the temperature to their own
required level.
For cold climates, an additional heating system
which uses heat from the exhaust system to
accelerate temperature build-up in the passenger
compartment is available as an option on HDi
diesel engines. The Exhaust Heat Recovery
system makes screen de-misting more effective.
This system, which is 100% environmentally
friendly, is automatically managed by the engine
ECU with no driver input and there are no
emissions into the atmosphere. The system is
controlled automatically by the engine ECU with
no intervention by the driver.
For ‘cold climate’ destinations, heated front seats
are also available.
Occupants in the new Partner will be able chosen
from a number of optional multimedia systems,
starting with the MP3 fi le compatible RD4 mono
CD radio with an output of 4 x 35 W. This system
can be supplemented by a 5 CD auto-changer or
a hands-free Bluetooth kit. The Bluetooth system
can be operated by controls mounted on the
steering wheel and is combined with a microphone
integrated into the interior light console. Telephone
conversations can, therefore, be heard through
the vehicle’s audio system.
Equipment to make driving easier
To make daily driving easier, the new Partner offers
a range of optional equipment.
Particularly useful for urban driving, rear parking
assistance warns the driver of an approaching
obstacle by means of an audible alarm and,
according to the particular model, by a visual
indication on the fascia information display screen.
This function can be de-activated by a button on
the instrument panel.
Automatic windscreen wipers are also available,
as well as automatic illumination of the headlamps.
The follow me home lighting system gives users the
benefi t of exterior lighting when they get out of the
vehicle. This function can be automatic or manual
dependent on whether automatic illumination of
the headlamps is fi tted.
Lastly, to protect the door mirrors from knocks
when parking or to aid getting into the vehicle in
certain situations, it is possible to electrically fold
the door mirrors inwards. This optional feature can
be controlled manually by means of the dedicated
control on the front electric window control panel
or automatically when locking or unlocking the
vehicle by means of the remote plip control key.
Peugeot Active Fleet Data: an innovative telematic fl eet management system
Specially designed and produced for customers
who fi nance their fl eets on a long term rental
basis, the new Partner can be equipped with a
module allowing automatic and periodic feedback
to fl eet managers of information such as distance
travelled and maintenance issues.
This innovative service, marketed as an accessory
combined with a service contract, transmits data
in GPRS mode to a PSA Peugeot Citroën service
desk. This data can then be analysed directly by
the operators in either Excel format or INTERPARC,
a fl eet management and monitoring system
accessible online and marketed by Peugeot Parc
Alliance.
The module is connected directly into the vehicle’s
electrical multiplex network and uses a GSM
module and an embedded SIM card to send
the information. It can be used to optimise the
running costs of fl eet vehicles, and provide such
information as:
• total distance covered,
• mileage until next service,
• time until next service
• fl uid level fault (oil, water, etc),
• coolant temperature fault,
• oil pressure.
In total, thirty nine information sources can be
monitored.
The major benefi t of this service, which has no
competitor on the market to date, is that it provides
reliable information directly from the vehicle,
without any intervention on the part of the user or
the fl eet manager, saving time and removing the
need for a special infrastructure.
