Peugeot Partner (2008) - car introduction
The utility car category is very specific for its requirements. While a passenger car can be quite easily designed for expected usage, an utility car should offer as many as possible ways of cargo space usage, so it can be used even in the most unexpected situations. The new Peugeot Partner offers many interesting solutions simplifying the transport of different cargo and there is also an important advance in the overall car construction and manufacturing. We offer many official photos and long description as the manufacturer itself presents the car.

A load volume in a class of its own

The new Partner is available in two body styles with a length of 4.38 metres and 4.63 metres, on a single wheelbase of 2.73 metres. The height varies between 1.81 metres and 1.83 metres according to the particular version. These dimensions offer benchmark loading access and enable it to meet the varied requirements of many different types of customers.

The load capacity of the new Partner positions it straight away as a market leader.

In particular: • an effective volume ranging from 3.3 m3 to 3.7 m3 with the Multi-Flex bench seat, • a payload of 625 or 850 kg, • an accessible load length of 1.80 metres which can be increased to 3.0 metres when the Multi- Flex bench seat is folded down, • a maximum accessible width of 1.62 metres, • a load area width between the wheel arches of 1.23 metres, making it possible to accommodate an Euro pallet, • a effective height of 1.25 metres, • a load sill height of 0.584 metres.

The new Partner in its extended version offers an even higher specifi cation: • an effective load volume ranging from 3.7 m3 to 4.1 m3 with the Multi-Flex bench seat, • a payload of 750 kg, • an accessible load length of 2.05 metres which can be increased to 3.25 metres with the Multi- Flex bench seat folded.

While offering a higher load capacity, the new Partner still is relatively compact in terms of size, making it versatile and easy to drive in an urban environment or in industrial areas.

A professionally designed load space

The load space has been designed with particular care to ensure ease of use and robustness. For example, the interior is protected against possible payload damage. The inside walls are fully lined under the bodyline and a synthetic protective covering protects the load fl oor. By protecting the load space against internal damage, it ensures the appearance of the exterior bodywork remains intact, which is important for the owner’s image.

The fl oor has six robust and practical locating rings to hold the payload in place. In addition, different load restraints are available, starting with a fi ve bar driver’s ladder frame protector located behind the driver’s seat.

At the customer’s request, however, it is possible to equip the new Partner with several types of bulkhead, each meeting specifi c requirements: • mid height bulkhead, • mid height bulkhead with grille top section, • mid height bulkhead with grille top section and sound insulation.

The mid height bulkheads come as standard with a removable section in the lower part allowing the maximum possible load length to be used in conjunction with the Multi-Flex bench seat.

Practicality is combined with safety, thanks to selective door locking. A button on the fascia panel, with an LED indicator, allows the load space to be locked or unlocked independently of the cab. This button can also be used in addition to the central locking button.

For professional users who want to increase the vehicle’s anti-theft protection, deadlocking is available, which makes all the interior door opening controls inoperative if the vehicle is broken into.

The new Partner has obtained excellent scores in the Thatcham security assessment: 5 stars for the anti-theft classifi cation with an alarm (4 stars without alarm).
