Peugeot Partner (2008) - Auto Vorstellung
The utility car category is very specific for its requirements. While a passenger car can be quite easily designed for expected usage, an utility car should offer as many as possible ways of cargo space usage, so it can be used even in the most unexpected situations. The new Peugeot Partner offers many interesting solutions simplifying the transport of different cargo and there is also an important advance in the overall car construction and manufacturing. We offer many official photos and long description as the manufacturer itself presents the car.

A range of high-performance engines suitable for everyday use

A varied and modern range of four engines is available on the new Partner. It consists of a 1.6 litre 90 bhp petrol engine and three HDi diesel engines (1.6 litre HDi 75 and 90 bhp and 1.6 litre HDi FAP 90 bhp), providing the ideal option for all types of use. These engines are characterised by their high performance and low emissions. This results in particular in reduced fuel consumption, but also the availability of an additive enhanced diesel particulate fi lter system (FAP) on the 1.6 litre HDi FAP 90 bhp engine helps improve environmental protection even further.

The four cylinder 1.6 litre 16v 90 bhp petrol engine is equipped with indirect fuel injection and has a light alloy cylinder head with sixteen valves.

It develops a maximum torque of 132 Nm at 2500 rpm and a maximum power of 66 kW (≈ 90 bhp) at 5500 rpm. This engine is characterised by its high torque availability at low engine speeds, similar to those of a diesel engine. Indeed, 92% of the torque, or 122 Nm, is available from 1500 rpm.

This characteristic is very useful when driving a loaded vehicle that requires a high torque output, particularly when pulling away.

The entry level offer in the diesel range is the 1.6 litre HDi 75 bhp engine. This four cylinder sixteen valve unit is made of aluminium. It benefi ts from a second generation common rail direct injection system, with a 1600 bar high-pressure electronic pump. This engine owes its effi ciency to its high torque output, which is available at virtually all engine speeds. Indeed, 90% of the maximum torque (185 Nm at 2000 rpm) is available from 1250 rpm. It also remains above 150 Nm right up to 3500 rpm, improving overall driveability, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions to 5.8 litres/100 km and 153 g/km of CO2 in the combined cycle respectively.

The 1.6 litre HDi 90 bhp engine is at the heart of the diesel range. Based on the 75 bhp version, it strengthens further the benefi ts of the latter A range of high-performance engines suitable for everyday use 9 engine, namely its high torque output at low engine speeds, good in-gear acceleration, consistent performance when loaded and reduced running costs.

With a maximum torque of 215 Nm at 1750 rpm it offers an even broader operating range, since at 4000 rpm the available torque is still 158 Nm. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is the same as the 75 bhp version, namely 5.8 litres/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 153 g/km.

These two diesel engines have been specifi cally adapted for professional use and, therefore, benefi t from reinforced cylinder liners, camshaft and piston compression rings.

Lastly, a 1.6 litre HDi FAP 90 bhp engine will be available from the autumn of 2008 in certain markets. Also made of aluminium and benefi ting from a second generation high-pressure direct injection system, it will differ from the 1.6 HDi 90 bhp version through the presence of a variable geometry turbo. The presence of the additive enhanced diesel particulate fi lter system (FAP) will provide an added environmental bonus for commercial vehicle users.
